Senior Merchandiser

£25,000 per annum basic wage plus bonus

Greater Manchester Area

 

Reports

·         Intake sheet – make sure accurate

·         Critical Path - Management

·         Sales Reports - Potential Discontinued

·         Discontinued – Financial profit/loss

·         Slow Moving Stock – put forward to reduce overstocks

·         Sales Forecast

·         Clearance List

·         Margin reports

 

Management

·         Motivate, manage and develop team of merchandisers (excel formulas/macros)

·         Offering advise and support for all merchandisers with direction from Sales Office Manager

·         Prioritising containers with shipping department for the department as a whole via Sales Office Manager

·         Checking out of stock reports before sending to customer to ensure nothing is missing/accurate

·         Giving customer a quick summary of the report.

·         Using the Potential out of stocks issued by merch team to review customers forecasted Service level and ensure everything is done to hit service level.

·         Liaising with customer on Feature lines to ensure they are kept aware of any issues.  I.e. late notification of feature lines therefore potential out of stocks

·         Liaising with all areas within the company to ensure service level is above at 98%

Warehouse – all orders are processed/prioritised

Quality/Studio – ensuring everybody is aware of what they need to do to ensure the minimum disruption to service level

·         Looking into changes in overall trends and forecasts and try to justify the changes.

·         Attend service meeting at customers if and when required

·         Work with individual merch to forward forecast the impact of lines coming off feature/new lines launch/promotions

·         Ensure all departments are aware of new stores – chase in initial orders from customer.  Liaise with warehouse to ensure they can meet availability dates.

·         Keep merch team informed of any changes to beds/features/promotions/discontinued.

·         Setting up Macros

·         Setting up new vision reports

·         Setting up new spreadsheets

·         Monitoring new lines sales and shelf fills

·         Reviewing in season trading and keeping team updated to ensure these trends are taken into consideration to ensure stock in arriving in time for peaks.

·         Ensure stock can cope with Must Have lines when issued by customer – advise customer if we have any potential issues

·         Profit/Lose analysis on discontinued lines.

·         Look into movement/growth in business within the key account. 

·         Ensure all outstanding queries with customer are chased until resolved.  Keep note and ensure all relevant persons are informed i.e. if put forward as a feature line, customer has not advised when this will take place role is to chase and ensure merch and factory are advised.

·         Deal with all ASN issues.

·         First point of contact for all merch issues for customer.

·         Assisting in the range planning by providing detailed analysis of top 10 performing lines.

·         Cover for all merchandisers during holidays and sick

 

 

Managing New Lines

·         Initial selection meeting – with customer buyer to establish their plans on promotions/features on initial selected lines

·         Grading new lines and forecasting sales.

·         Working with Sales Manages to ensure minimums are reasonable vs estimate.

·         Working with the factories on new ways of managing stock. Working to reduce the risk of holding stock in the UK.  For example holding a forecasted amount of fabric at the factory.

·         Presenting the new lines and estimates to customer merch to justify buy qtys.

·         Presenting the new lines and estimates to Directors to justify buy qtys.

·         Highlighting potential problem to customer on new lines – IE late sign offs affecting availability dates.

·         Working with the shipping department/warehouse to ensure they are kept informed to ensure we can meet intake dates.

·         Working with merchandisers on new line problems – i.e. late shipments/ wrong shipments/air freights.  Look at ways to resolve the problems.

·         Sending intake sheet and ensuring all the relevant people have updated this before it is sent to customer

 

 

Job Specific;-

 

·         Strong Excel knowledge (macros/excel formulas)

·         Strong Analytical skills

·         Critical Path Management

 

Person Profile;- 

 

·         Ability to work within a team and manage day to day issues whilst ensuring any potential issues are elevated to Sales Manager & Sales Office Manger. 

·         Excellent Customer Service response both externally and internally. 

·         Ability to communicate effectively at all levels (including Board level internally/externally with customers if required) to shop floor.

·         High organisational skills/numerate and attention to detail, have understanding and experience of stock control/cause and effect on business.

·         Problem solver
