Job Purpose Summary
Accountable to the Directors of
the business for the development
of the Company’s procurement
across all areas of the products
and services portfolio in
support of the Company’s
strategic growth plans.
Key Responsibilities and
Accountabilities:
1.
Ownership and management of
supplier base across all product
and service areas including
restructuring and amalgamation
of all existing procurement and
warehousing functions into a
centralised function.
2.
To negotiate and develop
strategic supplier relationships
across all product areas
3.
To develop and implement best in
class procurement strategy and
practices
4.
To implement a supplier
development and quality strategy
that supports a cost reduction
initiative across all product
and service areas
5.
To develop, implement and ensure
vendor compliance to procurement
policies and practices in line
with the Company’s financial
policy and procedures, and
negotiated terms and conditions.
6.
Responsible for planning,
developing and buying materials,
parts, supplies and equipment in
a timely and cost effective way
while maintaining appropriate
quality standards and
specifications
7.
Manage and resolve vendor or
contract disputes and all claims
against suppliers
8.
Responsible for the effective
warehousing and distribution of
all physical goods within the
company portfolio
9.
Manage and develop the skills of
the procurement and warehousing
employees to increase efficiency
and productivity and ensure
compliance with all regulatory
and company policy and
procedures including HSE
10.
To develop a comprehensive set
of KPIs to evaluate performance
of the procurement function,
including compliance, purchasing
activity, optimum stock levels,
demand /supply trends and
forecasts, margin etc
11.
To monitor macro level trends in
the vendor and contract base and
implement plans to react
12.
To proactively monitor market
trends and conditions,
competitor activity and prices
to ensure that company remains
competitive
13.
To report on performance of the
procurement function and
emerging trends monthly, to the
board of directors using
dashboard and / or similar
effective reporting tools
14.
To act as the business lead in
ensuring that the company
maintains existing and future
commitments to compliance
including ISO’s
15.
Ensure the company works within
the existing and future law,
legislation, guidance and health
and safety regulations including
the ethical sourcing of products
and services
16.
To play an active role in the
senior management team,
promoting the interests of the
company and to work across
functions to ensure that the
company’s business plans are met
and exceeded.
